An Agri-business company, based in Kumasi, seeks to hire a Sales & Marketing Manager. The primary responsibility of the ideal candidate, is to sell products and find unique ways to increase their customer base.

Reports to: The Managing Director.

Responsibilities

  • Sell products and services, perpetually finding unique ways to engage, increase and excite the customer base.
  • Manage clients at a local, regional and national level and ensure that customers are delighted with the products and services of the company
  • Responsible for presenting sales, revenue and expenses reports, and realistic forecasts to the management team
  • Provide leadership to all employees within the Sales & Marketing department by establishing and communicating expectations, providing clear instructions and coordinating all sales and marketing activities
  • Work closely with and support other on-site personnel in an effort to continuously improve processes and consistently establish the highest standards in the industry for safety, feed quality, cost, and finished product supply reliability.
  • Work with internal departments such as Nutrition, Quality Assurance, Research and Development, to engage clients more deeply

Business Development

  • Proactively pursue new business and sales opportunities
  • Develop and implement new sales initiatives, strategies and programs to increase revenue
  • Manage organizational sales by developing an annual Sales & Marketing budget that covers all planned activities and relevant expense controls
  • Meet with customers to discuss their evolving needs and to assess the quality of the company’s relationship with them
  • Provide a monthly report of field sales success

Team Supervision/Leadership

  • Provide on-the-ground support for sales associates as they generate leads and close new deals
  • Set individual sales targets with the sales team
  • Track sales goals and report results as necessary
  • Oversee the activities and performance of the sales team
  • Provide all necessary on the job training for staff, and ensure that all sales activities are conducted in a safe and efficient manner

Essential Minimum Requirements

  • Must have at least a Degree in Business Administration or Marketing
  • Must have a minimum  of 7- 9 years relevant experience
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
  • Strong business sense and industry expertise
  • Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills
  • Experience in the development of systems and procedures
  • Demonstrable experience leading improvement initiatives
  • Demonstrable experience in management, preparing and presenting budget reports and discussing and finalizing targets and plans with regards to sales and marketing activities
  • Experience in providing general support in a small team, and an experienced team player
  • Can work autonomously, effectively managing workload without continual guidance
  • Energetic, willing and ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Excellent quality, attention to detail, & organizational skills
  • Excellent analytical and time management skills
